The silhouette of Tesla’s future electric model was unveiled at the company’s annual shareholder meeting, sparking much interest and speculation. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has revealed that the car is not only designed but is already in production.
At Tesla’s annual CyberRoundup 2023 shareholder meeting today, a new image was released sketching the outlines of the company’s next electric car. Tesla CEO Elon Musk said the vehicle is “not yet designed” but already “under construction.”
A mysterious figure
Although Elon Musk made it clear that the assembly is not the appropriate place to announce a new product, he still decided to taste Tesla’s next car. During his presentation, Elon Musk mentioned two new vehicles that Tesla is currently working on and have yet to unveil. While the CEO discussed the plans, Tesla showed off this silhouette of what is believed to be its next vehicle.
It should be noted that Elon Musk said that this vehicle is not “designed”, but it is “produced”. It is not entirely clear what he means by this. Usually the CEO uses this language to talk about production, but it also means “building” a prototype. However, the image shown is a graphic representation and not a fuzzy photograph.
This announcement raises a lot of speculations about the nature of this vehicle, its technical specifications and the date when it can be made available to the public. While Tesla has yet to provide more details, there have been talks of new vehicles for some time.
What’s under the white paper?
In April, Tesla released its master plan, Part 3, online. An opportunity to provide more details in the fight against global warming. But also in its next electric vehicles. The Tesla Model 2 and Tesla RoboVan will be present, but a bus appearance is also possible. Of course, we’re talking about the Tesla Model 2, the $25,000 little electric car.
Therefore, the presented silhouette is likely to correspond to the new “Model 2”, which will eventually bear the name, the more compact model that Tesla previously announced.
Another equally plausible hypothesis is that this is a restyling of the Model 3, which is planned according to some rumors. Each of these scenarios is consistent with Tesla’s current strategy, which aims to diversify its offerings and reach a wider audience with a more affordable model.
