The Twitter boss has decided to repaint the Twitter logo at its San Francisco headquarters. For a simple joke.
No more Twitter, hello “titter”. Twitter’s headquarters in San Francisco now sport a slightly redesigned identity. The “w” was actually repainted white, disappearing and giving way to the word, which is both a way of talking about a strip club, but a reference to breasts. A joke attributed to Elon Musk, the boss of the social network.
Elon Musk wanted to remove the letter “w” entirely to complete this delicious joke, but as reported on his Twitter account, the owner of the complex denied this request. “So we painted it the same color as the background panel. Problem solved!” Welcomed by the millionaire.
A long running joke
The idea had already been brewing in Elon Musk’s head for months. Even before he took over Twitter. In April 2022, when the first acquisition rumors spread, Tesla’s boss was already having fun with the same joke, asking his followers if they should change the name of the social network.
The joke is added to a list of aesthetic changes Elon Musk has made in recent days, including temporarily replacing the web app’s logo with DogeCoin Shiba. Meanwhile, Twitter continues to lose money. Bought for $44 billion, Twitter is now worth $20 billion, according to Elon Musk’s own estimate. It remains to be seen whether the gendered connotations on display in front of the head office will once again increase the company’s value.
