Australia’s NEXTDC is seeking to raise $419 million to fund expansion into Malaysia and New Zealand

Australian data center operator NEXTDC Ltd said on Thursday it was seeking to raise about A$618 million ($419.19 million) through a rights proposal to accelerate its expansion plans in Malaysia and New Zealand.

NEXTDC plans to gradually develop two new data centers in Kuala Lumpur and Auckland, to meet the growing demand for data center services in the Asia Pacific region.

The Brisbane-based company said it was launching a full offering, under which eligible shareholders would be able to subscribe for one new share for every eight existing shares at A$10.80.

“Nouvelle-Zelande and Malaisie don’t have the premières opportunity of geographical expansion in the days of Australia, and we have some enthousiasm by the possibilites that are available to us”, declared Craig Scroggie, general director of l’ a company.

NEXTDC plans to start construction in both regions in 2024 and complete it in the first half of 2026.
